Relaxing by the sea

If you are looking to relax by the sea, the range of beaches with turquoise waters in the area is almost endless. From small coves such as Los Cristales beach, at the foot of the lighthouse, to the wide, fine white sandy beaches of Playa América, Panxón and Samil and, of course, the famous Rodas beach on the Cíes Islands, already known to the Romans as “the islands of the gods” and awarded the title of “The Best Beach in the World” by the renowned British newspaper “The Guardian”.

Opposite, sheltering the estuary, are the majestic Cíes Islands, which were declared a Natural Park in 1980 and included in the Atlantic Islands Maritime-Terrestrial National Park created in 2002, together with Ons, Sálvora and Cortegada islands.

A highly protected natural paradise where you can enjoy the sea and nature to the full. The entire coastline offers a wide range of nautical activities and experiences, a favorite destination for sailing enthusiasts thanks to its wide range of marinas.

Throughout its history, Monte Real Yacht Club of Baiona has organized editions of the Lymington-Baiona, several European and World Championships, and numerous Match Race regattas.

The area also offers us the opportunity to learn the secrets of traditional fishing, to enter its fish markets, to visit a mussel farm, to take peaceful trips on board spectacular sailing boats or to release adrenaline with a wide range of nautical-sports activities.
